Mike collecting his 991 Club Coupe in January 2013

It is with much sadness that we report that Mike Windsor passed away today after his battle with cancer. Mike was a much loved member of the Club and I’m sure we all pass on our condolences to Pauline and family.

We will remember the support that both he and Pauline have given the 991 Register, attending every event that we put on until ill health finally forced him to cancel their participation on the European Tour which they were greatly looking forward to.

Many of you will know that Mike owned the only 991 Club Coupe in the UK, and many of the miles that he put on the car were quick ones on 991 runs. It is particularly poignant that it is three years to the day that we met up at Porsche Bristol along with R16 members to unveil their car and see the album of pictures from the official collection from the factory along with the other 12 cars.

A more comprehensive obituary will be submitted for Porsche Post, but in the meantime we will let anyone who wishes know of the funeral arrangements when they are announced.

Peter

Thanks for posting this news, we have been keeping in touch with Pauline and feared the worst was imminent, Barbara and I would be grateful of the funeral arrangement once known to pay our respects to a true gentleman that loved Porsches.

I'll be raising a glass to Peter this evening.

A pleasure to of- even if all too briefly enjoyed his and Pauline's company on the Scottish trip, where we saw him connect with his wonderful car in some stunning scenery.

That's very sad news indeed.

A true gentleman who was so proud of his 997 Club Coupe that he brought it to the Clubs National Event at Silverstone Classic in 2013 to enter the 911 x 911 on the track. Mikes car was the only RHD car registered to the UK and only the second RHD in the world - that being a car going to Singapore. Both cars were at Silverstone that year and Mike was so proud that weekend when they could be seen together.
Pauline was just as enthusiastic about the car and they had some marvelous photos to show me at Brands Hatch the following year.

RIP Mike.

So sorry to hear about Mikes death tonight on the forum. The last time I talked to him was at the 991 barbecue at P.W. Both myself and Carol enjoyed chatting to Mike and Pauline. Our thoughts are with Pauline.

We have lost a great Porsche enthusiast, friend and as has already been mentioned a gentleman of the old school complete with his leather driving gloves.
