Provided that the car has been, and remains, fully up to date on servicing it shouldn' t have a problem with the milage you are sugesting. If anything, the 944 is happier when it is driven rather than just comming out when the sun shines.
Whilst the 944 is a very good car, the car you are sugesting is still almost twenty years old. With good preventative maintainance, the probability of the car letting you down will be greatly reduced but you will still have to expect the odd bills over and above servicing.
At the end of the day, what other car for under £5K is going to give you a big grin every time you get in it?
20k a year is low-mileage [], get a good one and keep it serviced and you' ll be fine.

I budget for a thousand pounds a year in repairs and servicing and over the years some have been more, some have been less.
Take a look at www.pistonheads.com and look in the owners cars section. There are quite a few 944 owners who enter all their running cocsts in there (me included) and that will give you a good idea of how reasonable they are and also any horror bills you may expect []

After browsing the forum, I am interested in the mileage on 944's, I have a 1988 Lux 2.5 with 77,000 miles on it. Is this low? A lot of cars seem to have over 100,000 miles on them.
Seems like no one makes seat covers as no-one responded to my last post!
Yep - 77k is low mileage on an eighteen-year old car. This doesn't mean anything, though - condition and the history over the last few years are far more relevant than mileage. You should be driving it more! []
I've absolutely no idea about seat covers, and from the lack of response I'd guess that no-one else has, either. There are companies that supply seat covers - I a waterproof set in my van. I suppose an internet search is a good place to start, or try dog-owner magazines.
I'd be surprised if there was a huge demand for 944 seat covers, though, so they may well not have a pattern. Let us know how you get on - it is useful if the question comes up again!
40k......[&:][&:]You should be driving it more! []
