Anyone interested in cheering on the mad a crazed lunatics around Milton Keynes this weekend?

Only a few days to go!

This coming Sunday (April 29th) is the Milton Keynes Marathon which I have a place in. Race No.3087.

The weather looks dreadfull but i'm hoping the BBC has got it wrong, as usual.

There are lots of spectator points along the route, roughly 26 miles of them and lots of added fun and entertainment if anyone wants to have a day out. There might even be the odd spot of afternoon tea at No. 27 if you're interested. You'll know which one I am as i'll be the one lying down, either holding aching parts or fast asleep.

The race kicks off at 10am, i've a scheduled start time of 10:20 (non elite runner). If I do the distance I am due back at the finish at approx 2:15 - 3:00pm, plus 1hour to get home (not under my own power).

Full course map here --> www.crazyspeak.co.uk

Full Marathon details here --> www.mkmarathon.co.uk

Also Mile 12 - 13 runs right at the back of our house so is a great vantage point. ETA to this point is 12:20

Hope to see some of you there.

Regards,

Tony

Sorry Tony. At the Boxster and Beyond event at Silverstone on Sunday. Hope the weather holds on for both of us.[;)]
Have a good one.

Just arrived home after helping set up at silverstone ....400 pins and 400 metres of fencing in the rain[&:]
...time to thaw out i think with a nice cuppa....[:)]

Weather may not be great but it would good to see a few familar faces along. There is the race centre with a covered
Marqee for some shelter.

See you tomorrow r10 if you are able to make it.

All the best, manjit

Well done Manjit. You deserve the cup of tea [:)] Will be there. Look forward to seeing you. Hope the sun tries to show up to but I fear the worst [8D]

Some quite serious flooding around Bedfordshire this morning, our local rivers have broken their banks, trust its better at Silverstone.

No, it was worse today, John, from 8-ish this morning when we started marshalling, etc. It was unbelievably strong wind and sharp horizontal rain - cold with it[&:]. But through all that, we a had a good laugh, whilst attendees sat and had their lunch in the restaurant[8|] Looking forward to doing some better weather events this summer![:D]

We must be in for some better weather soon, lovely evening here with the sun shining.
Paul, you need to stop whizzing around in that Lupo, I don't recognise you in that car!

Yesterday must rate as one of the worst days for weather in some time.

Undeniably hardly the weather to go running in for a lengthy time.

But for the record, apart from the redways being flooded, the driving rain for 4 hours, the cold temperatures, having to complete more like a cross country course and of course the silly distance, The MK Marathon was a huge hit and truly enjoyable. Thousands of runners and thousands of supports all along the course.

The stadium finish was a great treat too.

Had a good day at Silverstone. Despite the weather. A big thanks to all you guys who went that extra mile to be there and do the Marshaling etc. You all deserve a big pat on the back. You all looked totally cold and wet but still managed a smile. Well done. [:)]
Paul the meal was good to [:D] See you all soon.

Well done, Tony - yes, finishing at the stadium must've been great after all that[:D] (actually the weather conditions remind me of what it was often like when we did cross country at school[:)]).
