Sadly Postponed by the show organiser.

Some of you will of heard the TopGear team talk about the top secret facility they use located near Nuneaton just next to the A5 []
Here's a chance to visit the centre for 997 register owners.
We have agreed entrance to a limited number of display cars for the event, display cars will have free entrance for the driver but passengers will have to pay- so buy one get one free []

The MIRA automotive proving grounds have been around for nearly 65 years and this is the first time that the public have been allowed to enter the site and experience first hand the amazing range of circuits and tracks.
This is your ultimate hands on Motoring event and both days will be unique because MIRA have allowed access to pretty well everywhere. Motoring enthusiasts will know MIRA because it's usually a top secret proving ground where some of the worlds most exciting cars have been developed.
One of very few such facilities in the UK MIRA enjoys a great central location and has just about everything a motor manufacturer requires to both develop and bring to market the latest automotive technology.
Apart from access to all the circuits and tracks special trips are being organised to allow visitors to see the inner workings of this invaluable facility. Lots of other events on the day for the whole family to enjoy.

If you are interested in attending, please do contact me asap, the organisers are interested in what sort of space we'd be interested in.

I am booking a rather special dinner venue for the Saturday night with a fabulous drive out on the Sunday around Warwickshire- and some of my regular routes....

Andy I will do. I'm still chasing the organiser for the event and it is the case that he may want a display for the Sunday too... So good news for those that can't make the Saturday or interested in the drive out..... at the moment though its not confirmed for the Sunday at this moment. garyw

Guys, the good news is that MIRA is such a large site, we won't be capped on numbers [] I'll shortly move this to the genral 997 area with this great news... However dinner and the Sunday drive will be the usual numbers of no more than 12 cars... garyw

I sent an email to the show organisers over the weekend to clarify how we went about getting our 2-4-1 tickets. Sadly this morning the show organiser called me to tell me that due to reasons beyond their control the open day event is going to have to be postponed. He suggested possibly until next year but did say that he would offer the same deal to us all. I'm pretty gutted to say the least as the oppurtunity was great to have the access. I apologise to all those who showed interest but sadly this is beyond my control.. I will look at finding something else for that weekend [] garyw

I was tempted but now have a full-ish weekend. For those interested, centrally its Rolls Royce open day in Derby.. and its the large model show at Catton Park (Yes, I hang my head in shame[:-]) And the Silverstone 1000km - but no Nigel driving [] or this sunday you could go along and be ignored at the Classics in the castle event [] Alex, where not too far? garyw
