mirror switch working opposite

My wing mirror switch is quite frankly 'mirrored' and works in opposite i.e, left=right and up=down. Even the rocker to select driver/passenger mirror is opposite. Anyone else come across this and how do I fix it?

EDIT: just had a thought. Is it possible to fit the switch upside down? I am not with the car so cant check.

it can't have just suddenly started doing this, so either you've recently acquired or had some work done on it, and if the latter return and explain the prob.

Should be this way up, and it looks like it would fit upside-down:

When I return to my 2002, 996 Turbo after parking up, the near-side mirror is always fully looking down to the ground. No matter how many times I adjust it and enter the position into the memory it always does the same. Being doing this since I got it 4yrs ago.
Could it be a similar issue? Any ideas how to remedy this?

Ah yes i remember my rocker switch is on top [:)] well at least its a simple free fix.
