Mirror Wiring

Hi--I am wondering if anyone can help here.

The passenger side tear drop mirror on my car are currently only adjusting electrically up and down--so I am trying to check out the wiring and the connections. I have stripped off the inside of the door--and removed the mirror--this took some time as the threads had some corrosion these have now been cleaned. The mirror was clearly an after sales fit.

Where does the mirror lead plug into the main loom--is it inside the door or under the dashboard?

Whilst I have the door apart I was going to replace the external gutters/scrapers --is it necessary to remove the window replace these or does the black trim come off to allow these to be replaced.

Any help gratefully received.
