Previous post ----

Been through blue smoke ....... blocked oil filter .... sorted......

White smoke..........jammed open injector ................

Now a misfire .........

Plugs look ok..... thought might be trashed due to injector problem........

Could misfire be attributable to unburnt fuel hitting sensors in exhaust.....forces engine running rich !!!!

Any ideas?

Depending on the extent of the misfire it could be the MAF (see my post today). Exactly how bad is the misfire and under what circumstances does it occur?

Regards
Anton

Very difficult to say cause. If plugs ok then it's unlikely to be running rich as this would show as sooted electrodes on the cylinder miss firing.

Did it run ok after the injector repair. What was removed/reinstalled when doing this.

I would get the diagnostics as it could take ages to track down otherwise.

Diagnostics highlight defective exhaust sensor -- will know more detail when pick up end of week !!!! Replaced sensor £30.00 running fine - probably needs a good run now.....can only pick up next week stuck in Scotland --- gutted !!!

Sorted -----

Work completed - Injector Replaced, Other Injectors ultra sonic cleaned, plugs replaced, exhaust sensor changed ---- running well. They also picked up the car from house and have put fuel in !!!!! £594.00 all in

Many thanks Tom Day Fuel Injection Specialists, Keynsham - have been most helpful and have a Bosch Hammer !!!!!

Due to the injector problem, could my oil be contaminated with fuel? Is it wise to change oil and oil filters? Not due a service for a while yet though.

Regards

Not sure - why not drain the oil in the tank (drain plug drivers side rear sill area) and replace - not a full change but the bulk of it and would ensure any oil dilution minimised.

RSR's are recommended, they sound teriffic! Go to Gert and have them fitted, he'll make you most welcome.
