Missing wire and non-starting car!

Hi there everyone. And help! Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1987 928 S4, via e-mail or to buy? Specifically, I seem to have lost a crucial wire after my a.c compressor belt broke. The car was always a good starter but now seems to want to catch first off, but doesn't, then just churns on the starter motor. The wire is a raw copper multi-strand black sheafed wire that runs down from underneath the inverted plastic 'trough' over the right hand bank of the engine. At present it goes nowhere, as it appears to have been severed by the flailing drive belt. It runs in tandem with a grey wire connected to a junction box or similar at the back of the right hand distributor. Can anyone advise its purpose and where it should connect to, please. At present I just have a tonne and a half of useless metal instead of rather competent car.
As I at present in France and only have a landline connection, please be patient about a prompt response to any advice.
Cheers

Ian,

Use the following link http://www.cannell.co.uk/928_Workshop_Manuals/1987%20Wire%20Diagram.pdf

thanks

Thanks for the responses, chaps. I will download the wiring diagrams when I return to the UK and a broadband connection, as the process is too slow with a laptop and landline only. I am also thinking that a good look at the wiring on a similar 928 will be even better than a wiring diagram, as I am unsure where the broken wire originates and don't like to dismantle any more than is absolutely necessary! Cheers
