mistaken identity???

in the last couple of days, i've had 2 cases of people mistakiing my car for another model. the first was a group of builders working on the house next door who thought it was a ferrari and tonight a group of kids shouted "wow, its a lamborghini, nice car mate!!" now the kids i can understand thinking it is something else, but the builders were right next to me in the car and with the porsche crest on the bonnet and wheels and the words porsche on the rear and the steering wheel are a dead giveaway!!

anyone else here had a case of mistaken identity with their '44?

you were right first time, they were not taking the mick. i had the little fella in his seat in the front and one of them even said "i bet when he's bigger you wouldnt let him put his feet on the dashboard of the ferrari?!"

I had some kids taking photos saying 'nice car, is it a ferrari?' 2weeks ago but I educated them and let them sit in with keys and steering wheel removed. :)

The cockpit full of gauges went down well :)

I live by a gate to a park and they are always being mistaken for all sorts of things - often Ferraris - but Celica ("I had one of them mate 1600,rusted in 5 years!"), Maseratti, Ferrari lookalike kit car - "its all plastic" tap tap - oh! and best an MR2.

Worst cases I've had are some bloke instisting that the '44 was a 924 I'd rebadged!!! []

And believe it or not in the same bloody town (not naming anywhere, oh well go on then... Spennymoor, County Durham) someone was sure my 924S was a Renault Fuego!! [8|]

Ay, but in Spennymoor they'd have looked funny at you for just being in a car rather than a tractor!

One kid asked me if my 944 was a Ferrari - one of my previous ones. Didn't go down well ... I don't like Ferrari's [;)] No seriously I told him it was a Porsche and he was less interested ... [:(]

Best one had to be a little girl when I had an MG Midget she said "thats a little car, wheres the back seats and the roof?" hehe
