Hi all,
although i am truly excited about the imminent arrival of my baby in november, I am sadly going to have to sell my 944.
It has just gone up to RPM (thanks Peter and Paul) to have a new clutch fitted, an then it will be up for grabs.
I would be really grateful if you would let me know if any of you, or anyone you know, might be looking for a late turbo. It won't be cheap I'm afraid (although 944 prices are upsettingly low at the moment) but it is a lovely example - Slim's old car with a few nice additions: Cup2's, Cup mirrors, colour coded spoiler, 968CS wheel, MAF...[:(]
best
Matt

Sorry to hear that Matt [] .... although I can assure you that you're about to undergo a life priority changing experience which will soften the loss slightly. [8D]

You sure you can't keep it? I've been genuinely astounded at how good a "second family car" the S2 is (with two boys now aged 5&8). I know for a fact the 944 boot would swallow buggies that wouldn't fit sideways into the Leon's boot aperture....etc.

Failing that - can you post the full spec and I'll flag it on some other forums for ya. (Need's to be "cut and paste-able" or a link to a Pistonheads ad or something ~ linking folks to discussions on here are hopeless as you need to be a forum member to view).

I echo the comments above.

You will be very surprised how fast the first year goes by and how, in next to no time, you will be into rear child seats - which you can do in the 944.

Why not keep the 944 and get a cheap kiddy carrier car for 18 months. It probably won't cost you any more than you will loose on the 944 (less than you will pay for replacing the clutch) and in a couple of years you will still have a known 944 to play with. If you take the 44 off the road for 12 months insurance should be next to nothing and think of all those little things you could do to the car. Granted you may have to drive a wreck for 18 months but that is no bad thing with kiddies paraphernalia to contend with, doors getting knocked, projectile vomit, nappy seal failure the 101 other things that don't go with a Porsche - or any other half respectable car.

I fully endorse John's sentiments above.

Plus the possibility that this particular vehicle appears to attract pregnancy I will be keeping my wallet (among other things) firmly in my trousers.[:D]

I really hope you manage to keep it somehow Matt, but if you don't, then please remember to post a virility warning in the advert.

That thing makes babies [&:]

Thanks for the 'keep it' sentiments, guys, I can assure you that I have explored every option. Unfortuntely, however, even without the help of this fertility symbol of a 944, we plan to have more children after this one, so it could be several years before I got to enjoy the car again. This, coupled with a change of professional circumstances (no job!) means that it sadly has to go.

Mik, here is a rough spec, I'd be really grateful if you would pass it on to any interested parties. I can send photos if need be, though I only have some lowish quality ones from my phone at the moment. The car can be seen at RPM for the moment...

Ah well - if you've searched the options & it has to go.... then it does have to go. [:)]

How much are you looking for sir?

Not really sure Mik, it seems that prices are still a bit depressed. I would like to get about 10.5K, especially having just put a new clutch in, but i know there are other good examples going for cheaper [:(]
