Parking bulb blown in headlamp cluster.
To replace you have to take out the Headlamp.
Sounds simple..undo a bolt that holds the unit in place and slide it
forward.Managed to move it about an inch then it gets stuck ...
also difficult to slide back in.
What am i doing wrong ? The bulb is not essential but I would
like to fix it.
Any suggestions ? Thanks

It could be the plastic rails that the light unit is mounted onto are out of alignment?
I don't know how to adjust these with the light in position.

I have just replaced all the lights on mine with uprated bulbs. The units are a bit difficult to remove if they haven't been out for a while. Firstly make sure you have rotated the socket tool as far as it will go then you should be able to get enough grip on the sides of the unit to wiggle it left and right while pulling. You could also try squirting some WD 40 into the gap to lubricate the runners. They are also a bit of a pain to get the alignment right when replacing!

Thanks both
Capn I gave it a good dose of WD40 The unit has never been out.
The fixing bolt only moved about a quartee of a turn is that normal ?
It is out about an inch and seems stuck.I am on the verge of giving
up in case i cause damage.
The outer rubber seal seems a bit perished .If i do get it out I assume
i can buy the rubber cover?

Rock the light back and forth, it should slide out as soon as its released from the bar which it must have done to move an inch.

Gaskets are expensive at £40 each + vat

Finally got it out .
surprised how clean it is inside and quite a lot of grease still there.
Seems to have gone back in ok and surprise surprise the light are working....

Will look at other side tomorrow.
The seal on the glass ok just a seal that seems to run along the housing
broken and perished.

Did the other light today again pretty clean inside casing.
Gave it a good grease up not too easy sliding the casing back..
Would imagine it would be easy to damage the plug .
I will have to get the two small rubber seals about 6 inches long
on the inside front of lights .The main seals are ok .
