Mobil Oil - seems cheap

This chap on eBay seems to do Mobil 1 15w50 (and other viscosity's) pretty cheap I think:

What you reckon...? I dont know why but something just niggles me buying oil from eBay - how do you know it is what it says it is..?? but then again, I suppose its the same when buying in the shops.

At least with shops you have all the protection of the trades descriptions act, which I suppose still covers you with traders on ebay.

Well I have spoken to the guy - very nice chap I have to say.

Guarantees the product - full genuine Mobile 1 sealed and unopened etc etc. he is a parts trader and spends a lot with Mobil yearly hence the good price.

I've ordered 10 litres this am and he has guaranteed me delivery for tomorrow at work - great.

The Trade Descriptions Act is revoked now. It has been replaced by the Consumer protection from unafir trading regulations. You are still covered on ebay but you need to ensure that the seller is a trader and not a private individual (you have little comeback if it is a private seller) If he sells loads of bottles daily then he will be a trader and you have legal protection under sale of goods etc. I would advise that you pay using credit card if given the option (if the sale price is greater than £100) - you can then claim against the credit card company if the company goes bust or the product never arrives)
