Mobridge iphone pairing issue - gen 1 997

Hi, the car I have just bought has had a Mobridge ipod and phone system. But I cannot seem to pair my phone! I have downloaded the manuals and it indicates it should be simple and the unit will find my phone but it does not seem to.
My iphone finds the mobridge unit but does not connect to the car.......on the car, I have found the settings but cannot seem to make it look for my phone, if that makes sense!

Any advise?

Hi Michael,

I can't really help with the Mobridge issue as I have PCM 3 with built in bluetooth. However, one thing I have learned is that the words "simple" and "easy" should never be used in the any sentence, unless they are preceded by the word "never", when used in relation to Bluetooth connection. I also have a Samsung phone which I find much more user friendly than the iPhone.[:)]
As an after thought do you need to delete any previous pairings before pairing your own? Like this...
