Model terminology

I keep seeing later 944T advertised as SE models. What exactly is one of these - I was under the impression there was simply the 220, the turbo S and then then the 250 models.
I know there were some run out S2s badged as SE with a few bits and a chip but is the turbo any different?
Also where would I find a brochure and price list for stock cars and options for the 44 range post 1990?
Thanks
David

I don't think it was actually. I believe that in the UK all that was ever officially available was the 944, 944 Turbo, 944 s and 944 S2.

The terms Lux, SE, Silver Rose etc. are not official. That they are all commonly used, however I don't agree with the SE being the same as the "Turbo S". The S was primarily the American name for the Silver Rose and following year of production i.e. 250bhp with M030 suspension and forged alloys. From MY 1990 the Turbo didn't make it to the States and in other markets got the bridge spoiler, boge suspension and D90s. That is what I understand to be an SE.

There's nothing to say who is right and who is wrong, and it doesn't really matter. The point is that even on here among people who have been around these cars for years there is room for misunderstanding. Luckily if you're looking at a Turbo the only year where there was more than one model was 1988 when the 220 production car ran alongside the 250 Silver Rose limited edition, but note that they were available in other colours than Silver Rose.
