Modifications to my Carrera 4S

Hi all,

I have recently become the proud owner of a 2003 996 Carrera 4S, a life long dream now realised. It is a car that I intend on keeping and having a lot of fun with. I am interested to know what if any modifications are worth pursuing. I am keen to maximise every little once of horse power it has to give. So where do I start? Exhaust, Air Induction Kit, Intake Plenum and 82mm Throttle Body, ECU remap. What makes the most difference? All views and opinions welcome.

Thank you in advance, regards Mark.

As has been stated before, there is very little bhp gain to be made to the 996 na. You can add uprated air filter such as bmc, but will give very little difference. Although feels like better throttle response. 200 cell cats do make a difference, but not much benefit in headers as they are apparently pretty good as standard. Air induction kit is ok for more noise, but gains are marginal. An ipd plenum may give small gains but nothing major. Although you can fit the competition plenum with gt3 throttle body, but I have no experience of this. As for remap, opinion seems to be that for the na it is not worth it. Basically a lot of money can be spent, but personally I think that fitting better suspension would be a better route personally. Good luck anyway.
