Modifing old dash wires to use rev counter with S2 engine swap

I am planning on fitting an S2 engine into my 84, 944.
I have the old dash style and have been told I have to modify wires to get the rev counter to work with the S2 lump. Does anyone know which need modding?

I suspect you'll have a lot more serious issues to overcome than the rev counter wiring - you're going to need the ECU from the S2 which in turn means sections of the S2 loom. Peter has some idea about this, but even his conversion was done to an oval dash car.

Without wanting to be simplistic, why not simply sell your current machine and buy an S2?

Engine conversions like this ALWAYS end up being a boatload more hassle than you expect at the start. (I've done a few, and the end result usually isn't as good as a factory-produced specimen either.)
