Modifiying rev counter wiring

New member
I have a 84, 944. I am going to fit an S2 engine soon and I am told the rev counter wiring needs modifying to work on old shape dash clocks?
I am fairly clued up about modifiying dashboard clocks but need to know is it wired a lot diffrent, I.e whats the diffrence between The "new dashboard" rev counter wiring and "old style dashboard" wiring .

Forgot about my last post on this subject!!
I live on a small Island so simply selling mine and buying an S2 is not cheap as I would have to import an S2 and then re-register it etc.. which is expensive here.(Lanzarote)
I have a mate who rolled his S2 and my engine is tired!!
Where are peoples sense of adventure?

Well that makes more sense then.

The square dash instruments are individual round units. If the signal line isn't coil driven you could always swap it out and install a conventional rev counter driven off the coil.

Make sure you also have your mates brakes (at least) The original brakes are going to be far from adequate for the increase in power.

I am still a little intrigued how you think you are going to get around the engine management issues though. The Lux ECU isn't going to be mapped to run the S2 engine, even if you could get the two to talk to each other.

Will let you Know!!!!
My Dad happens to be a wizz with Semiconductors etc..
Think I will need him.
