I have noticed that my 718 Spyder gets somewhat damp, on the underside of the frunk lid and on top of the battery compartment plastic cover, and also actually within the bulkhead area, underneath the plastic cover (e.g. around the battery tray) after standing in rainy conditions.
I am a little concerned about the long term effects of standing water building up around this zone, so some questions:
1. Where are the drain channels - presumably under the front lower edge/corners of the windscreen?
2. The outer ends of the battery compartment plastic cover appear to be designed to divert rainwater somewhere beneath the lower corners of the screen/cowling - but the exact positioning of the ends (the pointy corners) looks open to question - should these corners be above or below the semi-fixed rubber seals which are attached to the channel on the inside each front wing? (I attach a couple of pictures - driver's side and passenger's side).
3. I was thinking of fitting a proper sealing rubber strip to the vertical edge the plastic screen cowling (see picture), which kind of seals itself (badly) against the frunk lid, in order to reduce the amount of rain splash that finds it way under the lid. I would of course ensure that the screenwasher jets are not obscured. Would this be a bad idea - is the volume intended to poorly sealed in order to aid airflow/ventilation there?
Ideas welcomed!
