Momo streering wheel spacers

Guest

Im fitting a Momo corsa steering wheel and have found that it sits about 1/2 inch from the top of the dash. I have checked the fitting kit is correct for the model but have been advised to fit a spacer. Question is which one, 20 mm/40 mm? I can obviously go with what looks/feels right but wondered if anyone has come across this before ?

Regards

Simon

I have a Momo Fighter wheel fitted to my car with the kit, I'm not sure what space I have but my fingers are small, so it has never been a problem for me.

I would go for the smallest amount possible in order not to add additional stress to top bearing etc...you would be suprised but should you go excessive on this, it can make the driving position feel strange.

Only my opinion though[:)]........

I had the same problem. The solution was to make a spacer on my lathe using a solid aluminium blank and turning it to fit and hollowing out the centre. The cost was £2. You can probably find a local machine shop to make you one for far less than the £25 + VAT that Demon Thieves wanted.

For a guide to size you should be able to place the palms of your hands on the wheel when your seat suits your legs

Thanks for the info. Have gone for the 20mm which is the smallest and seems to work o.k. (only £15 odd in the end)

Simon
