Well am pleased to get my car on the
black stuff after about 8 weeks fixing the replacement axle due
to the breakdown coming back from Monaco.
Have missed her and got reacquainted last weekend very nice driving!
Looking at booking a trip to the Nurburgring for about 4 days and
call in via the museum, wondered where to stay!
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Also what is Chateau Impey meeting generally like to attend, opinions needed
Enjoy sun driving my convertible Pardre!

I stayed at the Dorint Hotel right on track side.

Fantastic time there, nice Hotel and Bar!!!

Could highly recomend it.

there are better places to stay than the Dorint or Lindner. Both of these trackside hotels are basically travel lodges type hotels devoid of any atmosphere.

Far better time to be had at:

or if you prefer somewhere more lively then:

Glad to hear you are back on the road, must have been a nightmare. I am hoping I do not have any trouble when I drive back to the UK from Malta in September.

I did a couple of trips to the Nurburgring a few years ago, had a wonderful time. I stayed at 'The Blau Ecke' or 'The Blue Corner' in Adenau, cannot recommend it highly enough. The owner Klaus is a petrolhead, and part owned a race prepared Alpine A110 that he raced in the 24hr. All the rooms in the hotel are named after corners on the Nordshleife. Downstairs in the hallway is a map of the track where it is tradition for guests of the hotel who have come a cropper on the ring sign their name where the incident took place. Unfortunately my name is down at Eschbach where I had a little coming together with the armco. Luckily the car was still driveable but had quite a bit of damage. When I got back to the hotel Klaus made a couple of phone calls then gave me a lift out to a place where I could get a wheel and tyre. Another time when I tried to book a room but they were full, He arranged for me to stay in a little flat that his mother owned. As I say cannot recommend the place too highly.

Michaela, who used to be the manager at the Blaue Ecke now runs the place I mentioned above. Years ago the BE was a good place to stay (i've stayed there about a dozen times) but its not what it used to be.

That's really sad to hear, When I said I stayed there 'a few years ago' I suppose it was about 10 years ago, Time really flies these days.

I will second that. Its a good 4* too.

Nothing like a Travel Lodge at all as AGT says - lol.

Great rooms and great bar too.

the Blaue Ecke in Adenau is now owned by some Swedish guys. I don't know the Klaus mentioned above.

i today see that Micheala's "Gastehaus Fuchsrohre" has 19 reviews on TripAdvisor. All 19 reviewers rated the hotel as 'excellent'. That speaks for itself.

[:)][:)]Guys, thanks am looking this one sounds good.
Very pleased to get the car back missed her alot, like a good friend, nothing like top down when the sun shining, even my Lotus7 was nowhere near as fun,am still amazed at exhaust note.
Had this car a year now and better than thought it was going to be,have a few jobs in the pipeline for her:
Am fitting new mesh to 3 front intakes to protect radiators, hopefully stop leaves and debris a bit.[:-]
Need to change the other cv boots on other axle side as a small split on the outer one,
not a big job for me now but am lucky as bought some new driveshaft bolts last time at Porsche.[;)]
