Our next meeting on Sunday 14 March (yes, I know, it's Mother's Day [8|]) we have a very special guest speaker. "" John Hindhaugh.
For those who have been to Le Mans in the last two decades or watched the odd motorsport event on TV will probably be more familiar with the voice than perhaps the man, but Sunderland-born John is "Mr Radio Le Mans" to many of us, a a commentator (anchor man?) on that famous station. I understand John started out in 'local radio' but soon got involved in motorsport, both in marketing and racing himself - karts, rallying and GT. He now commentates on many races around the world, particularly ALMS and Daytona, and works with major TV networks.
John is also a Porsche fan, with a 993 in his stable[
], and is a newly joined member of R10. He has kindly agreed to give an informal talk at the March meeting (he is travelling much of the year thereafter, so we're lucky to get him).
For those thinking of going to Le Mans, you may just get a few useful tips from him.
