Advanced notice:

Our next meeting on Sunday 14 March (yes, I know, it's Mother's Day [8|]) we have a very special guest speaker. "" John Hindhaugh.

For those who have been to Le Mans in the last two decades or watched the odd motorsport event on TV will probably be more familiar with the voice than perhaps the man, but Sunderland-born John is "Mr Radio Le Mans" to many of us, a a commentator (anchor man?) on that famous station. I understand John started out in 'local radio' but soon got involved in motorsport, both in marketing and racing himself - karts, rallying and GT. He now commentates on many races around the world, particularly ALMS and Daytona, and works with major TV networks.

John is also a Porsche fan, with a 993 in his stable[:)], and is a newly joined member of R10. He has kindly agreed to give an informal talk at the March meeting (he is travelling much of the year thereafter, so we're lucky to get him).

For those thinking of going to Le Mans, you may just get a few useful tips from him.

Please try to arrive by 1.00pm prompt at Porsche Centre Silverstone (the Towcester based dealership[;)], not the Experience Centre at the race circuit[8D])[/b].

Difficult choice. Apart from Mothers Day, its also the 993 seminar at Cornbury House as well!

Mike,

Not quite sure what the final timings are, but its an bi-annual seminar dedicated to the 993 which usually lasts most of the day and is heavily oversubscribed. Very difficult choice having been to Le Mans many times.

Sorry John B, and other 993 seminar attendees, but we have few dates to hold meetings on, and John H is busy in the summer with his business as you can imagine.

Yes, that's a shame - I'm going to the 993 "˜seminar' at Cornbury, too (the 993s will probably be parked all the way to Chipping Norton, judging by the over-subscription to this event[:)]). Would have been nice to hear what he had to say, particularly being a new region attendee.

Really sorry, there is also a meet at Waddesdon that Sunday too :-( I will make it to a monthly meet soon.. I promise :)

Hi Guys,

Wont be able to make it today, the car needs a top up of coolant, so not in the best of moods.

Was so looking for a proper blast today......... Grrrrrr
