Monthly Meeting - Sunday 8 January

Just a reminder that this coming Sunday (8th) is our first Monthly Meeting of 2006. It is at the usual venue - The Navigation Inn, Stoke Bruerne - 6.00/6.30pm to about 8.30pm.

This month would be a good one for the newer members in our region to come along and find out what goes on.
  • We are fortunate to be joined on Sunday by member, Calum Lockie, who has kindly agreed to give an informal talk about motorsport (he successfully competes in a number of race series), trackdays (he runs Gold Track) and performance driving - all with a Porsche bias [;)]!
  • The meeting will also be an opportunity to discuss the 2006 events calendar - we have an opportunity to go Clay Shooting in March (see separate thread), but we need confirmed numbers shortly or we'll lose the date.
  • Finally, as it's January, we will be holding our traditional competition - "who has got the worst/most tasteless/tacky Christmas present?" Bring along that tie, jumper, or trinket you though long and hard about how to "thank" the giver [8D] - you might win a prize (or suffer huge embarrassment for the next 12 months [:D]!)!
I look forward to seeing you there.

Maybe the meeting should start at 2pm so we all have enough time to be driven up the road and back in Mikes Christmas present [:D]

Mike,
Thanks for organising a great evening with Calum Lockie. A down to earth chap with an easy style. Get the feeling he likes 993, GT2's????

Great evening and an excellent turn out.
The raffle idea is a good one - especially as I won the bubbly [:)]

I think I'll go along to Calum's next track day 22/1 at Silverstone to see what's what.

Second year on the trot isn't it?

Your hanging round jumble sales buying ringers for the free champers is really paying off, either that or certain relatives are trying to tell you something using christmas presents buddy [8D]

Give me a shout if you do, i'm thinking of booking on to this one myself[:)]

My last track day at silverstone was only 3 months ago, i went boming past a pretty well driven 968CS, only to find him
try and barge past me up the inside a couple of bends later[]

Turns out, it was Callum, at least he had the manners to find me in the pits later and apologies.

Nice chap

Always welcome John.

Especially if you can give me some Zymol application advice while you're there[;)][;)]
