From the 964 that brought you 4 wheels and tyres (inflated) into a 911

I bring you, two kids aged 11 and 12, 1 wife to be, me. 4 phones and chargers, iPod and charger, digital cameras, 2 over night bags for kids, 1 suitcase for honeymoon, 4 wedding outfits, cushions for rear seats, hat box, shoes, two hand bags? Food and water for trip.

385 miles down to Cornwall, stopped twice, 7.5 hours total travel time.

Not one 'Are we there yet'

Not one 'I got no space' - I took the middle stint in the passenger seat and there was no room to fart!

The car, the girls and the trip all got a mention in my speach. I gave them the option of going on the train and other half taking the car and meeting us there. they said no they would be fine. What top chicks.

All so I could drive to the wedding and away on honeymoon in the 911. Ill resize a pic or two and post it up later.

Porsche, kids and new wife rock.

Johno,
Congratulations on your marriage. From the account of your journey to Cornwall, you must have successfully completed one of the biggest hurdles of married life. It must be all down hill from now on.

Very Best Wishes.

BTW did you take the girls with you on Honeymoon [;)]

Okay, so my daughters aren't so old yet (3.5 & 2), but mine is also used as a 'family 4-seater'.
Great story John, and further evidence that family shouldn't force sale of any 'pride & joy' !
I have a laugh every time we take the wife's Merc ML for a service.
The people there can't believe it when all four of us get in the 964 & drive away.
Just been up to Roock Sportsystems in Leverkusen for some work.
All in the car, +/-150miles each way & a day at Köln Zoo.......nice day....not one complaint.
I also let my wife take the car when she goes out on an evening to do sport etc.
She comes back with a huge smile and says 'nice car'........we're never selling it.
Ain't life sweet.
Enjoy,
Jon

Thanks Andy,

Dunno yet, the car's still in my garage since returning back on Monday 01:30am.
Fitted the new steering wheel & wheel centres (retail therapy before I left the festival), but have been trying to decide which way to go....2nd hand/recon/new.
By the time I pay for recon + postage, I can nearly have a new one.
So I think I'll wait 'til the end of next week, as it's going up to Roock in Leverkusen for the rear brakes & clutch master-cylinder work.
They quoted 'about an hour' labour.....much cheaper than the 3 hours quoted by the OPC.
Any thanks & sorry John for hijacking your forum entry ;-D
Rgds,
Jon
