More BHP for 996 C2 Targa

I'm "doing up" a 996 C2 Targa (2003 with 76k on the clock).
I've had the engine rebuilt by specialist. Looking to increase the bhp - within reason. I heard there was a 12bhp improvement by fitting a SS sports exhaust (and a better sound) ? Is it true...and if so where should I start looking for quotes.
Apologies if this has been covered - I've just registered as a guest/user - this is my first time on the site.
Regards.

I'd make sure you're getting the full performance the car came with first. Perhaps treat it to a dyno session?

Once done I find that exhaust manifold are a good £/bhp, probably coupled with sports CATs. Next inlet - IPD, custom inlet and filter, finished off with a remap.

i wouldn't upgrade though until you know you start with a good figure for the stock engine.

Thanks Lee.
For dyno session should I go to a Porsche specialist or is it something a local garage can do? I'm in Stafford and the only Porsche agent I know of is B'ham - bit of a trot. For manifold and sports cat can you recommend a make/brand, or a supplier who can also fit these ? Re Induction - what's IPD ...and again can you recommend a supplier.
Regards
Paul
