Need to insure the RS, who are the best people to talk to?

Currently has no alarm or tracking system fitted, what's the best way to go?

Finding it very hard to find new rear SO2's apparently Bridgestone have no stock , any leads?

Thanks in advance for help

for insurance I have founder classicline good (tracker required though) and they offer free PCGB trackday cover. AON also have a specialsit division which seems competitive (5 free track days). I had a cobra track fitted which was reasonable and costs 130 GPB roughly a year. It was the most cost effective I could find 18 months ago. Hope that helps. I am not a fan of the SO2 on my 993 to be honest, liked them on my other cars though.

I used A Manning [:)] for my 993 RS after hunting around the usual supects - helpful folks, reasonable premium, 5,000 miles, agreed value, trackdays with PCGB or any ATDO organiser.

You will almost certainly need a Thatcham 1 system,. Hamilton and Palmer Black Box 2 (Thatcham 1) is designed for Porsche and works really well (and even has Porsche inscibed on the fobs[8D]. You must ensure you get a Certificate of Installation (for the insurance folks) issued when the the security system is fitted.

Not sure if a Tracker is merely 'helpful' or necessary for some of the insurers though . . . . does help you sleep at night though!

Thats strange, A Manning quoted me nearly double the price of classicline and AON. Maybe they don't like london postcodes?

A Manning as well mainly for their trackday cover. Only £50 more than my prev yr ins with no TD cover!

Try Hagerty
+44 (0) 1327 856 002 - ask for Darren Saunders. Allianz is security/paper behind them so not mickey mouse. Found them competitive, not too honerous with requirements etc etc.
