I'm trying to decode the options on my 04 996 C2. I've looked in the usual places but I can't find option 226

Here's the list from the car with the one's I've found.

C16 UK Specification
XCE Rear Center Console Aluminum-Look
X97 Aluminum/leather shift knob
X98 Aluminum/leather parking brake handle
226 ?
411 18" Carrera wheel
425 Rear wiper
437 Comfort seat left, electrically adjustable
438 Comfort seat right, electrically adjustable
440 Antenna Diversity
476 PSM - Porsche Stability Management
538 Seating position control for comfort seat, right (Memory Seat)
567 Windshield green graduated tint
635 Park Assist
650 Sunroof
09991 Manufacture from the exclusive-programme

Strangely it doesn't include some of the factory fit stuff that's also on the car such as:-

665 PCM2 BASIC MODULE INCLUDING RADIO
666 PCM2 TELEPHONE (GSM)
670 PCM2 NAVIGATION
692 CD-CHANGER PORSCHE

I've got an old copy of the PET (Version 6.03 Update 156) but I'm not sure how to look for option code related stuff.

226 is a mystery option. Nobody but the guys on the line know what it is.

On the old version of PET, look in the MSP Pages - newer versions show it as optional equipment.

It might be that the PCM2 was retrofitted after the car was built - therefore it wouldn't show on the sticker.

Thanks Richard,

226 will remain a mystery then.

I can see the CD-changer being a retrofit but I'd be surprised if the PCM2+phone was retrofitted as that makes it a very expensive option. Just the phone on it's own is a £1000 retrofit.

It was sold new from Nottingham OPC in 01/04 and I bought it as the second owner in 06/05. So it's history is fairly well known. I may well ring the OPC and see if they keep any records on it.

I still can't see where your looking in the PET. I can either go in on the 996 then the latest year is 2003 I then get the parts Groups 0-9 or I can go teq for the Tequipment Catalogue which gives everything from 85>>

Start the PET and go to 996. Select the year, any main group, any item, to get you to a screen with the picture on the left, and a list of parts on the right. Near the top of the screen you will see a button with a list and and up/down buttons on it (5th from the right). When you float the cursor over the button it will display 'functons'. Click the button and choose MSP Pages (old PET) or Optional equipment (New PET).

PCM2 is available as a kit for retrofitting. It isn't a terribly long job to fit, as most of the wiring is in place already, so might not be as expensive as you would think.
