More seals...

Think I've found my leak !!

There's a seal type thing where the rear screen meets the Targa bar. I don't believe it's the main seal or anything but think it stops water at an earlier stage ? Anyway, whatever, it looks to have shrunk in the wash / sun and has come away at the end that should butt up to the drivers side seal at the base of the window.

From here water is pouring down into the car running down the inner wheelarch and ending up in the rear drivers' side footwell.

My query is this - anyone know what this "seal" is officially known as to enable me to buy a replacement - can't see it identified on any exploded seal type diagrammes (it's there, but not identified unlike the rest of the rear window seals.

Make sense to anyone ? Or am I going mad........again......[:)]

I've dug out an old parts book that I have. There's a part called a "Rear Bar Seal", part number 901.565.930.41 for 1968-89 Targa with rear glass.

It appears to fit between the rear of the roll bar and the screen. Is this the one do you think?

Do you mean the 'ribbed 'seal in the diagram?

Yep that's the one - found one at Type-911 in Bromley (bargain at £18 !). Should help keep things dry - can't help thinking that the main window seal must be on it's way out though.......

Thanks for the info guys.
