MOT due

First mot due in December, would you bother with porsche centre, any benifits or any good local garage would do.
my nearest pc is 35 miles away, but of course it's another reason to drive it.
I have an extended warranty so I suppose thats a good reason to use pc just in case there are any issues.
I think I have just answered my own question really.

Just had a MOT done at the local OPC in conjunction with its 6 year service and inspection ,cost £54.85 for the MOT (pass no ads ). TBO any Mot station will do the same level of checks and possibly a lot less, some as low as £30

Derek,

A lot of PCs actually don't have an in-house MOT testing capability but have an arrangement with a local company to provide the service, in which case I'd check with yours first. If that's the case then, as Brian says, you may as well use a station local to you which will most likely be cheaper than the £54.85 the PC will charge you regardless of whether or not they carry out the test.

That's exactly correct Jeff.

When my previous CR came up for it's first MOT at Edinburgh OPC, I was surprised to learn they outsourced the MOT to the nearby Honda dealership.

I would go to an independent MOT centre next time.

If you have a Halfords Autocentre near you, and Tesco clubcard vouchers, £20 of Tesco vouchers gives you £60 of Halfords Autocentre voucher, enough for an MoT. I've had both my cars MoT'd this way for many years without problem and without any attempt to sell me additional work. If you don't have the Tesco vouchers, Jalfords normally have a "special offer" of an MoT for £30.
