Car is 996 C2 Tip, September 2003.

Just had it MOT'd, been told I need two new rear tyres (mileage 21k).

Michelin as now, to replace I have been quoted £513.50 all in inc fitting and vat for the two.

Is this a fair quote?

My engine servicing is done by JZ Mactech.

Don't know which size tyres you have, but I needed a full set which I got from Micheldever and that only cost me 560 (ish) for Pilot Sports.

Think there's a bit urine extraction going on there. I have Contisports on my 993 and am less than £500 for four.

Ouch!! Expect to pay 500-800 for a complete set of four depending on type!!!!!

Give my guys at Wraysbury Tyres in Chertsey a call -not a million miles from you. Ask for Kevin, mention my name:- 01932 570420.

Thanks guys, I was a little concerned, especially when I was told, "that will be £xxx each including fitting etc."

Me: "Fine, I'll let you know Monday, I need to take a bit of advice".

Him: "Umm, let me know if you get a better deal and I'll see what I can do".

My best bet seems to be to go elsewhere for a full set of tyres and pay someone else to do the MOT again.

We live and learn!

Cheers Melvin

Rang Kevin, he returned my call 5 minutes later;

£223.25 each all in, so £450 in round figures.

Thanks for the contact.
