Hi all,

Pleased to report that my Lux passed its MOT today with flying colours! [:)] not even an advisory!

Nice as well to again get my head under the car and have a good poke around whilst on the ramp, everything appears in order for the time being anyway [:D]

Just got myself a Waxoyl kit to make a mess with... so will crack on with that this weekend

Mike [;)]

ORIGINAL: pauljmcnulty Mine too! Haven't seen the results yet but a pass is a pass. [:)]
Nice one.... mine wasn't due til the end of the month but caught them during a rare quiet moment so thought i'd pop in and get it looked at [:D] and yes a pass is a pass.... one less thing to worry about for the time being Mike [;)]

Tsk! Schoolboy error, chaps. MOT's should be scheduled for the summer months, so that if it fails you are not forced into fixing it in the freezing cold by the side of the road ... (I learned this one the hard way.) http://pistonheads.com/members/showServiceHistory.asp?carId=20819 Oli.

Erm, I could furnish you with a (very long) list if you want, Mike. In fact, a quick search on just about every thread in this forum for the last five years would answer the question as well! Oli.

oh alright.. i believe you [;)] I am just trying to think positive.... my car is used daily and (touch wood)... it has not let me down yet [:-] I am a firm believer that if you spend a bit of time and money on preventative measures then i hope it should be good for a few more years.... Mike [;)]

Mike, I'm glad to hear it, and would hope that mine is in the same boat. I suspect the critical bit is the "Used Daily" comment. It could be well applied to the "16k mile S2" thread running on here in parallel ... Oli.

I have my first WoF in a couple of weeks. From what I can tell so long as the wheels are round and the car has some lights it will pass. I suspect the foot-long crack in the windscreen needs to be fixed however.

Hurrah - our S2 passed this afternoon [:)] Just an advisory on the front anti roll bar bushes looking a little worn, so I'll change them all when it gets a bit warmer. Was a bit worried that my straight pipe in place of the cat would cause a problem (even though lots of others have reported its fine) but it passed with no comment. The only hitch is there was so much snow on the car they listed it as white instead of black [;)]

Yeah, well, I went out at around 7.45am this morning and started digging (yes, digging) my S2 out from the snow. Well over 8 inches over the whole car. Got three quarters of the way through the job when I discovered I had dug out my neighbours MX5 by mistake! Damn, my hands were cold when I finally got the door of my car open. Oli.
