Is the ABS light on constantly mate? If not then it won't fail on that. ABS bit of a black art and I must admit I don't have much experience in that particular area. Try here it should help you out. www.clarks-garage.com. Welcome to the fold. Not being rude but can't agree with you putting a tow bar on a 944 [:D] Still at least the volvo is going so every cloud eh. You have come to the right place anyway. Someone will be along soon with more help no doubt. Great bunch of guys on here. Always happy to help if they can and not pretentious or judgemental.

thanks for the quick reply yup light on all the time I am afraid Towbar - As long as I dont have to cut rear bumper at all then I am not worried, not going to pull much weight, just need to be able to take my kayaks around.

There was a standard towbar for the early 944s, the Lux and 944S. Whether it'll fit an S2 with the later rear bodywork I don't know. As for where you'd find one, I'd guess you need the aisle with hen's teeth and rocking-horse poo. [8|]

You have the turbo body kit don't you on yours? So I think it may be difficult to do that without the rear valence getting in the way and having to be altered. And that would be a crime. I am sure there is a Porsche solution that will cost many sheckles lol. Just a thought. Do you have your manual? I still have the original one for my car. I will have a look what it says. Did you have a look at clarks re the ABS?

yes the rear valance might be an issue ans too be honnest i cant bare to mod the bodywork at all looked at clarks, cant see any mention of ABS. The other issue i haveand forgot to mention is a oil pressure sender that works intermit, might be wiring but not sure, any pointers on that one? cheers Steve

Hi all

Newbie first post so be gentle[;)]

bought a nice S2 a few months ago, 89 plate with 126000 mile, white with the reddish interior (yuk but beggers cnat be choosers) some good history

MOT time and the advisory from last year on the bottom ball joint will be a fail so a few pennys going there, needs a flexi hose on the brakes. set of 4 braided on order.

Only real issue is ABS not working, sensors all seem ok on a visual, Can i ask if there are any common faults with the ABS

Has anyone fitted a towbar to there S2? Really would love to get rid of my XC70 (heap of crap)but need a tow car

Best 2.5 K I have ever spent on a car, ever[:D]

cheers

Steve

In my experience sensors usually work or they don't. Sounds like wiring to me. What are the circumstances or is it just random? I would say it's unlikely to be internal to the cockpit but don't quote me. I would try the wires at the sender and work back from there. Sorry if teaching you to suck eggs. Would defo get that sotred though mate. I find the pressure gauge invaluable. Also it's nice to have a car with a proper pressure gauge that goes up an down with engine revs. Proper car lol!!!

would agree its a wee bit of a distraction to drive with the oil light on, but hey my volvo came out in sympathy recently with the message saying stop engine as soon as possible no oil pressure[:-] All advice gratefully received, I dont get offended easily[;)]

Hi As for the towbar for kayaks - may be a roof rack. I used to see a windsurfer on a '44 in the '80s. The oil pressure problem is probably as Rob says wiring. Check from the terminals under the boots, they often go behind the cambelt cover which is a s*d to check and rethread! Mike
