Hi Ian, I had the same call two years ago, and it's a horrible feeling. The good news is that there's no reaosn it should be terminal: if it wasn't even an advisory last year it's unlikely to be a completely rotten car! You might need to find a local guy who isn't going to see "Porsche" and assume you'll open your wallet. I used a small classic car restorer for mine, to redo what the "recommended" repairer had bodged up for the MOT. [] It all depends how far you want to go, but there isn't a car out there that isn't repairable/restorable. If it's mechanically good, then some money thrown at the bodywork is better than taking a risk on another car IMO. Good luck!
