Anyone try this brake fluid? It has a much higher spec then ATE super blue / type 200, and given how much of a rip-off ATE fluid is here maybe not that bad value for money i.e. 10 bucks in US 15 quid+ in the UK (and I thought ATE was german?)
 
Beaky is having a dose of liquid gold Castrol SRF (and it doesn't come more expensive than that). It better do what it says on the tin.....I hate bleeding brakes.
 
Me too, but I noticed that half way though the day at Bedford (after lunch funnily enough) the pedal went soft feeling. I tried pumping the pedal to see if it had air in there and it didn't make any difference. Brakes still worked fine, and are fine now. I have noticed before with Super Blue that you get a really nice solid pedal when the stuff is fresh and then over time the pedal goes slightly soft. This makes me think that its time to at least bleed out the fluid in the caliper, or perhaps flush through the whole lot. How often do you track merchants reckon I have to do this?
At the moment it looks like I will need to bleed out the calipers after every track day i.e. probably overkill to change all the fluid.
 
I've not used Motul RBF before but an ex member who tracked his car prolifically (David Sims) used to recommend it.

I've always used generic (cheap) DOT4 fluid and replaced it after every 4 trackdays, but I just switched to ATE Blue before Bedford so I'll let you know how it feels as the season progresses. I bought it when Promax had a clearout for £8 and I wish I'd bought several now [8|]
 
Just a quick tip on racing fluid. It is extremely high boiling point however its lubrication qualities are not as great therefore if you not using the car regularly you can easily get seized brakes. As you can probably tell I have been there and got the t shirt!
 
I'm on ATE super blue and I noticed no difference in pedal feel through the whole day at Bedford and I was giving my big blacks a good workout especially at the hairpin.
 
It may have been something with the pads, but driving the car the other day it did feel a little softer. The thing that has always amazed me is that just flushing through and bleeding the brakes with fresh Super Blue definitely gives a nicer more solid feeling pedal. I don't know if the pedal softening up a little indicates worn fluid or not since ISTR that on cheapo dot 4 fluid the pedal never felt as good even with fresh fluid. Maybe I imaging in it. I always have to re-adjust to the much longer travel on the S2 brakes compared to me daily driver (RHD cars, take up on the levers, ABS etc. ).
