I am taking delivery tomorrow of my 05 997 S Cabrio [:D]which is replacing my 00 996 C4 Cabrio [:(]so I would like to thank all on the 996 Forum and in particular Richard for all the assitance and technical advice over the last seven years. I wish everyone the best with their cars.
Kind regards, Collie

Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the 997 register - a very friendly bunch indeed!![;)]

Sorry to see you moving on Colm, but I'm sure you will love the 997S. My nephew has a 2S coupe, and it is very nice indeed. Enjoy!

Thanks for the best wishes.
First impressions are very positive, much more refined (a good thing?) but also definitely loads of sports car undernaeath. Still only getting to know the car I will post next weekend afer my first week. First car I have ever had which doesn't come with a jack!

Not necessarily a good thing! Some punctures cannot be repaired with the squirty cannister. That means you need to call out Porsche Assistance. Trouble is, you may not have access to a phone and quite a few places have no mobile coverage. [:(]

Of course, you can still buy a space saver wheel that fits a 997. [:D]

First week behind me. Love the car, all the toys and the room compared to 996.
Unfortunately it has all been fairly tame city traffic[] but I off to Belfast tomorrow for the weekend which will give me the opportunity to stretch its legs:ROFLMAO:.
Really is very well put together and very relaxing and easy to drive too quickly in city particularly where there is now a 30kph (18mph) limit down the quays in Dublin. I would hate to get points for exceeding that limit so very light right foot required[>:].
More to come.

Welcome aboard, and if you've got cruise control v useful for dodgy speed restricted areas.
