I tried looking for a straightforward answer in the forum, before I post this question and couldn't seem to find one. So please post a reply only if you're sure of the answer. I own a 997S MY04/november. Can I have the mp3 capability deployed to my existing PCM (by means of a software upgrade)? If not, does that mean that my only other option is installing PCM2 which means changing hardware? I really appreciate any help, because I've been trying for over an hour to find an answer.

Don't know the answer re the PCM i'm afraid, but if all fails then when (if??) denison lauch their MOST compatible iPod adapter, you could plug that in.

Asked the exact same question this morning at my OPC. The answer was a straight forward NO!

Hi
Another possibility is to source an i-Trip for your ipod (if you have one). This little gadget sits atop your ipod and transmits the track playing to your FM receiver by radio. You just tune in your radio to the channel and bingo - no messy wires or hassle. Of course, being Britain, it is technically unlawful to 'broadcast' without a licence (more cash Mr Brown?) but I have personally seen these gadgets in action and they are brilliant.
I believe they are available on the 'net from the US - it may be unlawful to use them, but I believe it's perfectly OK to buy them.
Other companies are following suit and have similar products on sale in the UK.
I hope this may be of interest and use to you.
Regards
Rob
