Does anybody out there use them on there 993?, and whats your opinion of them? Do they ruin the look? Or are they saving your wheel arches geting mangled like mine are. Oh and where can I get some. Cheers.

Nice on a landrover, but not on a 993. Would foul on the ground (low car), ?whistle at high speed and probably disturb aerodynamics to some degree - maybe even cause lift (not a good thing at speed).

Most of all, would spoil the gorgeous visual lines of these cars [8D]

Only IMHO of course...

They do stop a lot of cr*p from splashing onto the rear PU, especially when you work at the end of a long unsurfaced lane. I know - get a new job, or buy that Defender, I hear you say.

you could also put that plastic stuff on the edges of the pu, and front wing, that will stop the chips etc.

I will be fitting some on my 993 when I have painted my arches. The ones I have were on my 964 and they were originally made by my dad for his 993 about 10 years ago.
They stop the leading edge of the wing taking a hammering and protect the rear wings from chips. They were fabricated from some non specific rubber mud flaps from an accessory shop.
The rear pu will be getting 944 clear front wing protectors to protect the fresh paint from chipping.

Yep, had mine done at the end of last year as well as the fron of the car.

anybody fitted front bull bars and a bike rack? I wanted some to go with my billet head conversion, PSS'9s and mud flaps[:D]

(sorry couldn't resist, I keep my 993 in a barn in a horse yard and yes it gets covered in crap but mud flaps would look out of place at Castle Combe, I have enough grounding probs at Avon rise at speed without mud flaps casuing more[:)])

used to use them on rally/rallycross cars , but they were purpose made very wide ones , cars looked a bit agricultural though . I use the clear plastic strips , work well
