My brakes are driving me insane. They work fine, but when I brake at slow speeds (like in traffic) I get a musical concerto of squealing. I took it to a garage who said "Your back brakes are squealing". End of help.
I have checked the disks, pads, replaced the brake lines (when my husband hit one with a hammer [8|]) and even adjusted the hand brake (so it actually works now []).
The car stops beautifully. At higher speeds (like 70 to 50) there is no musical accompaniment, but slow down a bit and it's embarrassing.
What is wrong with them? Any ideas? What is there left to check? All ideas gratefully received!
