I just purchased 1983 930 WP0ZZZ93ZDS000695 which was originally delivered to Germany. It was represented as one of the 35 factory slants that year. It has many special wishes options like the 930S steering wheel (with date stamp two months earlier than my car was delivered), console, wood dash, single headlight motor, and steel front fenders without slats behind the headlights.
The car was imported in 1985 by Bruce Canepa, who is famous for importing Euro market Porsches to California. He recalls importing this car, and remembers it being a special wishes slant nose. I have the 1985 import papers from the American EPA and DOT, and both state the car as a "935S". So either the car came out to the dealer as a slant nose, or was taken back to Special Wishes in its first two years of life. I'm assuming the genuine steel fenders and headlight parts weren't available outside Special Wishes back in 1983-85 (were they?), so it's doubtful a third party shop did the work.
I contacted Marc Noack at Porsche Classic, who has always found my factory build info for me, but he found nothing on my build sheet to indicate it was sent to Special Wishes. The paint to sample gray metallic is on the sheet.
I've heard that someone in the club here has access to the factory Special Wishes records (or know someone who does).
Is it possible to confirm if my slantnose was built by Special Wishes, or even that it had any work done at Special Wishes? I would of course be willing to pay for this research or join your club, even though I live in California.
Here are some pictures of the critical areas...I'd love to hear your opinions:

I truly appreciate any help in verifying my car,
Jay
