my 1984 944 Lux up for sale gents ..

Any reason why you haven't put some photos up? We all know what an early white Lux looks like but photos sell things - and good photos particularly so.

I have them on my phone and am able to email to anyone that is willing to post them on the for sale thread. I've no access from work terminal and a broken Mac are the only factors.

There - we now all know what a very pretty early white lux in good condition looks like! And it does indeed look like a nice one too.

And Ed's even been kind enough to post the pictures to the advert thread too. What a nice fellow!

All the best with the sale.

Oli many thanks and yes Ed saved the day.

Hi Ian,

At the risk of offending you, the original ad without pictures read as an early 944 with no details at a concours price. That isn't going to sell!

Even with the pictures, which clearly show a fantastic car, it's all about an advert that is so detailed it's almost ridiculous if you want to sell.

The buyers now read the internet forums and buyer's guides: you need to addresss what they's been told to look for when you advertise a 944.

Just off the top of my head, any prospective 944 buyer will want to see pictures on the inside of the sills, and have details of the last belt change. When the clutch was done, perhaps head gasket, refurbed brakes and suspension.
I think the wheels alone are probably half your asking price, but putting together a comprehensive advert and pictures are so important. I think that's next month's column, so if anyone has any suggestions?

Point taken, however it was for a quick sale. Its available for viewing/test drive all week and Saturdays in Banbury.

I'll trawl the paper work and get a more complete advert together.

Ian

Hi Ian,

Appreciate that, just thought it was the most likely reason for the car not getting any interest.

The really nice 944s do sell, but if you're asking top money then the advert has to be pretty comprehensive, and you might have to wait for the right buyer. Good luck! [:)]
