who would have thought that a long chat over the new 997 in www.tt-quattro.com back in May would turn my 2001 LHD 180 FWD TT into this....

and here we are.....

btw to share.... 570 miles each way...

TT on the way (patches of heavy fog) average of 64 mph & 30.4 mpg down there

993 way back (patches of heavy rain)..... average of 67 mph & 26.2 mpg back !

SO on the motorway.... the 993 have been a huge surprise in the FUEL ECONOMY stakes... I was NEVER EXPECTING THAT !!!!!!

impressions.. compared from the perfectly designed TT.. the 993 is a bit more noisy, slightly more cramped, tad tricky to drive.. BUT LOVING IT ALL THE WAY !

love the engine noise.... it may not have the mid-range torque of a turbo charged TT (obviously) but it is much more fun to drop a few gogs !

only problem was the CD changed magazine it disappeared from the garage so I had to suffer with Germany Radio all the way back !

ALSO people do really check you out ! although its almost like they were on WWII attack patterns as they head towards for a closer look at 80mph on the autobahns....! (and some TOO close!)

so far.. best choice i've ever made... JUST CAN'T STOP DRIVING IT !!!

Try photobucket for hosting. It is free and very reliable.

Very nice car. Just hope I can replace my 993 with something as nice!

Sundeep, good man - I ve just upgraded my trusty SC ( 8yrs) for a black on black manual 1996 993 LHD .Loving it although finding it a bit twitchy ( but that could be the Belgian roads) - have you managed to get an English instruction book / service history ( mine is in German) Also got a Becker Traffic star radio/cd/satnav, but instructions in German - any ideas? was it original?( or the nav CD)

I got an english instruction manual from my local OPC for £24 (IIRC).. same price as book specialists.. and gave me an excuse to go there and look at the new stock... [:D]

same again for any other manuals.... did ask the parts about a mnaul for my Becker radio... but as it has no sat nav was fairly easy to work out

oh yes.. it is a bit twitchy.. NEED LESSONS !

hey gary.. dont forget to post some pics... [;)]

btw.. did you import it or uk sourced ?
