The old-timer shape is just lovely [;)]

Lovely Chris.

LHD? Which country was it originally from and what do you know about its history?

Ian.

LHD, originating in Belgium, a late '73 car.

Melv, I now have a garage ... it's full [;)]

It's standard in most respects, but it has a leather dash covering the cracked original and RS lightweight door trims in place of the very tatty 2.4s door trims --- and it would need the snorkel intake to be strictly correct.

Yes it was.

It would obviously be better as completely standard, but it actually works very well ...

I've actually owned it for 18 months but our intention was that John would use the winter period to do a bit of tidying up, and then I was building a garage -- and then there was a bit more to be done using the second winter period, and it's actually a rather different car from the car it was 18 months ago.

I can't praise John highly enough --- in fact I must be careful not to because people will stop believing me.

In exchange for his work I've agreed to sell the car with him, but since I always seem to be testing the ownership proposition of ever more expensive stuff, what appears to be a slightly high price on the new car is more than matched by a tremendous part-ex on the "old" car --- part of which is driven by the value adding work that John has done at minimal cost to me ... in his "down" time.

I love the dash, and surround. All leather ! is that OEM I don't think I have ever seen that before its fantastic

Thanks for the photos, it looks really nice.
I have one question about the Durant mirror on the drivers door only, for 1972 and 1973 the mirror was a rectangular shape, but the older large round Durant mirror was specified for Sweden and only as special order for ROW.
Do you know if the mirror is special order for this car?
Sorry, its real anorak stuff I know.

No, it was after market, doen by Forest Fine or Southbound ...

Hence as non-original te car is imperfect, but delightful [;)]

Thanks Paul --- come for a ride some time :) Are you going to the Lotherton Hall Sunday ??

Mirror, a toughie that one. I had a LHD US '75 2.7 which had a single square stainless steel mirror on the drivers door. I have a '75 RHD 2.7 Carerra which is correct with the single circular stainless steel mirror on the drivers door. And I have this which feels right with a circular mirrror on the drivers door ... ??

Chris

Durrant was stock for UK RHD cars

If is more than likely it should have a small chrome flag mirror , or depending on manufacture date the ever so slighlty larger chrome flag mirror

If the manufacture date is on the paint label, I believe it's September 1973.

The car originated in Belgium ...
