MY 2004 What was standard spec on a boxster

Hi all,

Have been offered a very well looked after 2004 Boxster as a private sale, I have a list of the options the car had fitted but I don't seem to be able to find any info on what was included as standard on an August 04 registered Boxster, does anyone have either the original sales literature for MY04 or is there a model year comparison out there similar to one for the 996.

On a 2.7...

16" alloys
standard seats in alcantara fabric - suede to you and me - electric back rests, manual fore/aft and up/down - part leather was £795 or there abouts
manual ventilation system - dials, air con was a £500 option
CDR-23 CD radio with two speakers atop the dash - sound pack/Bose upgrades were around £650/£1200
electric windows
alarm with central locking


wind deflector was factory extra
17" alloys were about £900, 18s were around £1200
xenon headlights about £900

Thanks for that, does anyone know if in model year 04 cars included the following

Auto dim mirors?
On Board Computer?
Auto wipers?
Can the roof move while car is in motion?

I know OBC can be fitted but what about the rest?

Also car has Bose, is there a way to have 3rd party SatNav fitted and keep the Bose amp or could I just remove the AMP and swap it for an older BOSE amp from an earlier model year car.

Auto dim mirrors - factory option - approx £300
OBC - its there, hidden away - you can swap the column stalks for a 3 or 4 lever unit and enable the OBC, or use a separate switch to toggle through the readings
Auto wipers - dunno sorry, extra on a 987 so if they were avalable then its factory extra. You can use a VW/Skoda relay in the fuse box in place of the Porsche one to act as a programmable intermittent - all for £25 !
Roof operation on the move needs the aftermarket control unit, which again swaps with the standard one in the fuse box area - £200

MY04 cars use fibre optic connections from the headunit to the amp - if you change the head unit, you'll need to change the amp too - you may even have to change the speakers too as Bose use strange impedances for their speakers.

Auto Wipers - not standard (in fact don't recall them even being an option)

Auto wipers were certainly an option - "Automatically dimming interior/exterior mirrors with integtrated rain sensor for front wiper system" -- £348 on an 01 model
