Some people seem to fear LHD, advertise it in Holland or France. Otherwise it is only worth about 60% of RHD price in the UK

i suggested Mike's car to one countryman. There were also some cars here in Finland he were interested of, but he flew to UK and picked up Mike's car.
New owner called me from Belgium and told me there are some difficulties with the car. We managed to solve the problem; there were several hoses got loose.
After several hours i got a another phone call from him. Car has some serious problems at German Autobahn. They were on their way to Nürburgring and were driven 200+km/h when the headgasket blow up.
I adviced them to call to Adac and get the towtruck. They asked how much it would cost to have it towed to Trawemünde, so they could have it to the ferry which sails to Helsinki. That option would cost them 2000€, so they skiped it. They left 951 to germany and will head back next weekend with trailer...
I suppose it would be wiser to drive carefully with low boost pressure via Belgium and the Netherlands to north Germany. Well shit happens and what we learn from this story, it's better to get to know your new car first and after that have some serious boost levels.

Well, the new owner is me. I played with the HSK ECV while standing still, left boots way too high and after co-driver's long run on German speed's we changed drivers. I got behind the wheel and speeding up to trafic I got to second gear when headgasget got enuf. Car will be tow'd to Helsinki this weekend by Finnish tow company.

[edit] After reading info about ECV I think I might have rose the 10s. overboots limit too high.

Welcome to the forum Sam'

Hope you get the car sorted soon and keep in touch.

There is one effective way to find a car's weak spots - thrash it till it breaks. At least you now know what the problems are. [;)]

Head is now taken off. What we found was seized headgasget, cylinders #2 and #3 are scrach'd, so I will need new block and two pistons.
