Welcome on board [:)]

If you have rusty sills from the outset then at least your eyes are open to the expense and frustration from the beginning. Keep us updated how you get along and what steps you take to repair them

Hi Ryan,

Ditto what he said.

Cill replacement can be brutally expensive to do properly, I hope you didn't pay much for the car? I seem to recall a similar discussion to this a couple of years ago.

Hi Ryan welcome.
you can probably do the cills yourself if you can weld and are used to keeping old bangers going on a shoe string. There is only two choices really. If its as bad as it sounds then either you are looking at a full restoration which is going to be horrrrendously expensive £5000+ for the whole car (assuming the rest has been neglected also.)
or you bodge it up with filla and hammerite get an MOT run it for a year for the experience and sell it for spares when something expensive goes like the waterpump or clutch etc.
good luck whatever you decide to do. Plenty of cars being broken on ebay .

Can you weld and paint? if so then its not a major problem. I repaired the sills on my 944 myself, made up sections, welded them in and sprayed them (I masked off at the stone chip paint line just below the doors). Sprayed them in cellulose and the colour match is excellent.
