my 964RS for sale in Ebay

Oh well guys, to save you asking all the questions I have already here you are.....

Hi Alfred,

Is the mileage actually proveable - is there documented proof from 92 and what is it? Can you give a breakdown or send scans?

I have a signed sales agreement in year 2000 from the previous owner, it just pass 3,000km. Since then I haver all the reciept kept up to year 2010 with record milage...The reason is so low in HK: you can not have a plate for LHD, and the owner have it on the flatbed to the track and bring it back to the garage. When the car with me for 5 years in HK, I only put 100km just warm it up and put it back to the storage.

Are we saying there is no history on the car from 92 to 2000?

It is correct, I believe the previous owner brought the car in 1998...I kept the record since I bought it in year 2000, I will post new shots to show it tonight...

Do we know how many owners the car has had and where?

The previous owner is the person who import the RS from Europe, before that I have no luck...

Is the cage welded in or just bolted in?

It is a bolted in except the diagonal tube inside the engine bay... you can tell from the interior shots

Who and where did you buy the car from?

A Porsche club racer Allen Wong from HK...

What happened to the original mags, steering wheel, seat belts.

I have the original RS steering wheel. When I purchased the car, the MAG is gone and I believe when factory installed the Matter full roll cage, you can not put back the original belts...

Why was the car totally resprayed after only 9000kms?

When I am coming home from HK to Taipei, I want a perfect body finishing and I gave the garage 3 months time to wrap it up. The original paint is OK just looks tired, 8 of 10. I had the shop sand it down to color coat and re-spray Glaussuit, replace all the new seals...I do not trust the local shop in Taipei can deliver the high quality work, so I spent 3 to 4 times price to get it done correctly.

Who put the cage in?

I believe it is the motor sport department, who will put a speedster sun shade in side the car? Also a motorsport racing sticker showing the chassis number...

Are all panels original and has there ever been any damage?

I believe all the panel are original and solid, only the front bumper driver side has a repair sign... the aluminum stick still there...

Yes think it was Italian. Makes no difference to me - has no history for the 6 years + it was in Europe. Could have been anything and is going to be v.hard to sell on in the future without it all :(

The VIN appears to apply to two cars. If you review the HISTORY it shows the car as an ordinary Carrera not an RS also the mileage on the odometer is shown as 19,278. Is this just a case of mistaken identy ?

If it was Italian delivery a few points to note. There is no log book system like our UK version it's a much simpler limited document. So there is very limited scope to actually know who is the previous owner or how many it has had. Even if your an Italian buying in Italy ! The service book though should have service stamps in it which would possibly give you a clue to how well it may have been looked after.
Interesting about the cage. My car had all the fixing points for that type of cage. It's my belief that it was retro fitted after delivery.

I borrowed a USA VIN number in order to post on eBay. Please check the factory certificate which shows all the numbers...I also add a Stuttgart license plate: S-154 L, date 98 I 07. Maybe someone can trace the record from Germany.

Hi Laurence:

The interested thing is the cage got a racing sticker with chassis number on it...Did your got a diagnal tube inside the engine bay?

Yes mine has two tubes in the engine bay that are welded in and in body colour, they bolt to the tubes inside the cabin via the firewall. I have always thought that this looks like the factory matter cage that was fitted to the C4 lightweight . My cage had been removed but i have had one made to a similar design, mine allows the factory belts to be retained.
