Welcome back - mmm love the aerokit. What other toys did you go for? And first impressions?

Heres the spec of my 991

Platinum Silver
Black Interior
Bose
Sport Design Wheel
PDK
Sports Design Pack (duck tail and front end)
Sports Chrono
Sports Exhaust
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control
Power Steering Plus
Black Wheels Painted
Wheel Spacers 5mm
Sports Seats Plus
Cruise Control
Light Design Package
Auto Dimming Interior
Heated Seats
Floor Mats
Rear Wiper
Park Assist Rear
Painted Head Lamp Cleaning
Porsche Crest Headrests
Leather Rear Centre Tunnel
Telephone Module

As for first impressions its definitely quicker than my old 997 (not that ive pushed it at all) The pdk seems even more slicker than before if thats possible. The steering that everyone seems to chomp about seems fine to me. Im no racing driver but the response is amazing, very accurate and makes you feel properly connected to the road. Bad points are the amount of attention the duck tail gets! [:)]

That's a hell of a spec [:D] and another man choosing not to go with the sunroof.

Thanks for the update, and keep us up to date with your impressions as the miles roll by. We hope to have a 991 event or two next year so keep an eye out on the forum.

By the way Michael, does your satnav support complete postcodes? There's some debate as to whether they're shipping all new cars with the updated system.

Hi. Yes the car does have full post code search. OPC did say apart from the very first few out of the factory all new 991 come with full post code.

That's odd, as my OPC had not seen a 991 with the latest software up until last week or two, and then not all new cars were fitted with it.

Oh, and it will be a cost upgrade for those, like me, without it, probably next year []

Peter, do you know if full postcode upgrade will be available for 997 gen 2 and if so what the likely cost would be?
Should be free[]

I believe it won't - unfortunately - be available for the previous 997 satnav. Cost wise for the 991 owners it will be in the hundreds, as usual. I agree it should be free - like the McLaren one [:D]

Thats because it's never worked in two years!!! but as you say they are giving it as a free upgrade to owners- they could have charged but aren't....Even get a letter apologising.. makes a nice change doesn't it [;)]

garyw

Cant answer that one Peter as my OPC had several in. They did say that the upgrade for dab will be chargeable when it arrives but nothing about the cost of post code upgrade.
