Yeah, someone went up the back of me on the way home today. When the repair gets done what does anyone think they should do about the dent in the bodywork strip with the Porsche decal on it? What is it part of and should it be replaced do you think? Cheers guys.

I have the complete rear of a 1988 silver 944 if this will be any good to you for repairs, cheers Elliot

Not an expert but they may drill it and pull the dent out, restore the finish and replace the decal.

Not nice to watch but best let the experts do thier work and enjoy the end result

There's some distortion around the join of the strip and the rear wing i noticed this morning, don't want a corrosion hotspot creating really.

Have you considered getting a quote from an official Porsche body repair centre?

No, i'm going to get a local guy i know to do it. I'm trying to keep the cost down either way to avoid it getting written off.

Where in the country are you? It may be worth giving QVR Refurbishment a go in Northants. In the past on a Ka they got the finish to a pre accident state (panels didn't look too shiny, too matt etc) and they managed to save alot of the repair (I.E they kept the original boot floor in and put the seam sealer on very well in addition to rust proofing it). They are not the cheapest but also not stupid with their prices.

How about getting a quote from a Porsche Approved Repairer, writing off the car and pocketing the money, buying back the salvage for a song, having a local professional reair done and pay for it yourself and you should end up with some cash left over.

It does all depend on the write off value being in excess of the true repair cost but I haven't a clue what your car is worth
