My Boxster sadly for sale

The subject title may sound like some cheesy advertising cliche, but this really is a very sad and reluctant sale of my much loved and trusty little Boxster. She's been an absolute gem in the last two years and has carried me for 20,000 reliable miles during that time.

1998, manual, Arctic Silver with hard top roof - the soft top, including plastic window is spotlessly clean and in new condition! - 17'' alloys, red leather interior (no tears), leather dash and doors. Scrupulously clean inside and out, waxed regularly and always kept covered. A few minor stone chips to front (none have penetrated to the metal). Red Porsche brake calipers - always kept clean and polished. Porsche/specialist service history - service books and owner manuals all still in the original Porsche wallet.

An honest and straight car, never failed to start even in the coldest weather, drives impeccably and still feels tight even with 114,000 on the clock. Recently had new front discs and pads, water pump and air mass sensor. This car has always been treated with respect and has clearly been well looked after throughout it's entire life.

She is currently having a well earned rest in heated storage. For further information or photos, please email me. (I am based in east Hampshire). £4250 ovno.

I'm hoping someone in the Porsche club may wish to give her a kind, caring home where she will continued to be loved and cherished.

For those of you reading this and have never heard of me before, here's a potted history of why she's for sale. I have been a devoted lover of Porsche since a teenager and finally, at 41 years of age, I was able to buy the Boxster and a 964 Targa with some of the money left to me by a deceased Aunt. Regrettably I was made redundant and over the two years since losing my job (qualified with a physics degree I have been fervently seeking work, but to no avail!) the remaining money has gradually dwindled on living costs. I'm a complete pistonhead at heart, but the time has come where my head needs to take control of my heart and make some radical decisions on owning multiple cars.

In order to continue 964 ownership (which is where my heart lays), I am having to part with other much loved vehicles. My former concours winning XR2 has been sold and now with heavy heart I must say goodbye to my Boxster. The money I will save on storing cars, will pay for the insurance and annual maintenance on a 964!

So sorry to hear this Amanda.

I'm sure things will turn round soon. Meantime see you at the next Porsche event - no matter what car you are in [:)]

:rolleyes:Amanda,I read your advert and agree it is difficult to give full attention to both cars, and it is sad to part with a car
U become attached too.
I bought my car last year,Boxster S,and very pleased with it.
It may be help to advertise your car via Pistonheads, this site is pretty good for buying and selling u may heard of it,and I've used with some success.
Also there is a book that may assist you in these difficult financial times
"The Richest Man in Babylon",by George S Clason, this book changed my life when I didn't have a dime and also maybe I was a bit dim but it took me 5 times to read it before I fully understood and put the laws and instructions into practice
Hope this assists you for brighter times ahead!
a true Porsche addict,David

Many thanks for all the words of support I've received in the last couple of weeks. Things are grim financially, but I'm still clinging on, albeit by fingernails only these days! Unless you've experienced long-term redundancy, it's difficult to appreciate just HOW tough things do get.

I've learned that there's a definite line between being a bit 'strapped for cash' and literally wondering if you're going to have to declare bankruptcy the next week because there are no funds coming in at all. The point where you have to add up how much your food bill is going to cost in Tesco, before you get the checkout, because you don't want the total to be more than the cash you've got in your pocket!!

Anyway, for the time being I'm keeping the Boxster. I've been shopping around on the Porsche front, but need to be sure I buy the right 964 to suit my needs. Until then, my trusty little roadster will be staying with me. [:)]
