my brake lights are not working (suddenly)

Morning all - the title pretty much says it all. Apparently the fuse (number 3, 15 amps) is intact and changing the fuse made no difference. The bulbs seem fine too - both filaments appear to be intact and normal rear lights work perfectly. Anyone know what might be going on?

If you're sure fuses and bulbs are ok I would remove the light pod, then strip and inspect the bulb holders they may be corroded and rusty.

Thanks guys I'll give that a go. Someone suggested it might be a relay as the normal rear lights are working but not the brake lights. Would I be right in assuming that's the next step if it still doesn't work?

I don't know if a 993 has a brake light relay - wouldn't surprise me - but anything directly associated with that circuit is worth a check. Get a wiring diagram.

Morning all,

First - thanks to all who replied with your help on this. A couple of nights ago I had a proper look and finding no corrosion I got in there with a volt metre. It turned out to be the pedal switch, and the matter is currently in the capable hands of Camtune.
