My Car is costing a lot recently! Help Needed Again!

Hi I firstly wasnted to say a thankyou to the moderator that help me with the fan problem, which is now cured (Can't remember you name, Cartman (South park) but it was the Thermostat)

Anyway the next day I was driving with the roof off, totally loving the fact that I have a Porsche and a car with character unlike the many company cars that are on our roads, however it started to rain, so pulled over to put the roof on......... And horror, the forks at the back did not come up, instead I heard a rather horrible grinding noise then nothing, so drove back slowly hoping that my roof would not blow off down the A120,

When I got home I took the mounts apart and I know that I need to replace the plastic cogs, however, the cogs were not actually turning but I could hear the motor still grinding! Am I looking at a new motor? or are there any plastic cogs or adustment that I can make to the motor? in fact where the hell is it located as well.

Thankyou in advance, have a good weekend!
Chris
